Heinrich Tessenow. Approaches and iconic projects

The Teatro dell'architettura Mendrisio of the Università della Svizzera italiana is pleased to announce that from 1 April to 17 July 2022 the exhibition "Heinrich Tessenow. Approaches and Iconic Projects", promoted by the Academy of Architecture of USI and curated by Prof. Martin Boesch.

The exhibition aims to retrace the work of the German architect Heinrich Tessenow (1876-1950) through his architectural and urban development projects, his theoretical reflections and his writings, in the context of the cultural and architectural debate in Germany in the first half of the last century.

The exhibition presents a series of original drawings from private and public collections, as well as numerous models of his projects, interpretative tables, reliefs of parts of some buildings made using the "frottage" technique, samples of original materials, publications, photos and videos, as well as some pieces of furniture designed by Heinrich Tessenow himself.
