Museo Vincenzo Vela, Via Lorenzo Vela 6, 6853 Ligornetto
The exhibition project enters into dialogue with the Museum's permanent collection. With new and recent works, Valentina Pini (1982) explores the boundaries between object and subject, between the familiar and the "uncanny", through an alchemical and experimental use of materials such as silicone, wax, pigments and organic substances.
In this way, a creative universe is revealed where the everyday object is charged with a suggestive ambiguity. Pini's sculptures, photographs and (video)installations, created in part expressly for the exhibition, intertwine an unexpected dialogue with the historical collection.
Among these, one work in particular establishes a direct comparison with the famous equestrian statue of Charles II of Brunswick made by Vincenzo Vela, provoking a reflection on the relationship between power and images, memory and transience.
Mediation appointments and cultural events are scheduled for the entire duration of the exhibitions. The program can be viewed at LINK.
