This exhibition brings the fascinating archaeology of ancient Egypt to Zurich.
For many people, the name Tutankhamun arouses a sense of fascination and amazement. Since Howard Carter discovered the tomb of the child pharaoh in the Valley of the Kings in 1922, Tutankhamun has been famous all over the world. His fame is due in part to the fact that his burial chamber was found almost untouched. A rare occurrence, for most of the tombs that were uncovered at that time had already been looted and emptied by grave robbers.
The exhibition in Zürich-Oerlikon offers visitors the unique opportunity to marvel at Tutankhamun’s tomb exactly as it was at the time of discovery. On display are objects that have been faithfully reproduced in great detail, such as the gilded shrines and thrones of the famous king, his characteristic gold mask, and the sarcophagus.
This fascinating exhibition promised to enthrall not only archaeology enthusiasts, but also adventurers and discoverers.
