New "Club del Tango" series: An evening of concerts and milonga with live music. Robert Schmidt invites top-notch guests—the program is a surprise!
On Saturday, October 24, we’re launching a new event series at Ortschafft Kultur: the Club del Tango Concert and Milonga Evening.
For Club del Tango, Robert Schmidt invites top-notch musicians who share his passion for tango and with whom he has, in some cases, been playing for years. The program for the first concert portion is curated based on the instrumental lineup and the preferences of the ad-hoc ensemble assembled specifically for that evening. After a short intermission, the Club del Tango orchestra performs a live set for dancing at every Club del Tango event.
Of course, dancing is also allowed during the concert portion—but as musicians, we take certain artistic liberties when performing in this setting that we cannot afford when playing for dancing. We look forward to this musical and creative expansion—the fusion.
We look forward to working with numerous enthusiastic tango dancers and tango music enthusiasts to place the live music at Club del Tango even more prominently at the center of our milonga.
Robert has invited top-notch guests to kick off the series. The lineup includes: Christian Gerber on bandoneon, Matthias Leupold on violin, Seba Noya on double bass, and, of course, Robert Schmidt on piano.
The program? Come by and let us surprise you!
