**THE WEEKEND BREAKDOWN**

**FRIDAY EVENING: IGNITE**
The energy is electric as you arrive at Bluelion Incubator in the heart of Zürich. After registration and networking over drinks and snacks, it’s time for the main event: 60-second pitches. Anyone can pitch – and we encourage you to! Share your idea, your passion, your vision. The best ideas will attract teams, and by the end of the night, you’ll either be leading a team or joining one that excites you. No idea? No problem. Work on someone else’s vision and contribute your unique skills.

**SATURDAY: BUILD**
This is where the real work begins. From morning to night, you’ll be immersed in workshops, mentoring sessions, and intense team collaboration. Expert mentors from Zurich’s thriving startup ecosystem will guide you through customer validation, business model development, and MVP creation. You’ll research your market, interview potential customers, refine your value proposition, and start building. The venue becomes your startup’s first office, your team becomes your founding crew, and the possibilities become limitless.

**SUNDAY: LAUNCH**
The final push. Your team will finalize your pitch, perfect your presentation, and prepare to face the judges. In the afternoon, each team presents their startup in a compelling 3-5 minute pitch. Judges evaluate based on customer validation, execution and design, and business model viability. Winners are announced, but here’s the secret – everyone who participates is a winner. You’ve built something from nothing in 54 hours. You’ve proven you can execute. You’ve joined an elite community of doers.

**Do I need to attend all three days?** Yes, to maintain momentum and team cohesion. However, a “Sunday Presentation Only” option is available if you just want to watch the final pitches.

**Can I pitch multiple ideas?** Focus on your best, most prepared idea first. Depending on the schedule, you may have the opportunity to pitch multiple concepts.

**What if I’m already working on an idea?** Startup Weekend is designed for new ideas developed over the weekend. However, if you form a team of 3+ people around your existing concept, just inform the organizers and you can proceed.

**What about idea theft?** While you can’t fully protect your idea, the benefits of feedback, collaboration, and execution far outweigh the risks. Remember: execution and passion can’t be stolen. Ideas are worth little without implementation.

**Do I need to work all night?** No! The venue typically closes at midnight. Get rest, recharge, and come back strong the next day.

**How are teams decided on ownership?** Like any startup, the team decides together. We don’t support signing legal documents during the event – focus on building first, sort out equity later when there’s something tangible.
