20th Sils Art and Literary Tour Days - Border Experiences - Smuggling and Refugee Movements at the Southern Borders of Graubünden

In 2025, the Sils Art and Literary Tour Days will celebrate their 20th anniversary. For their initiators, Mirella Carbone and Joachim Jung, there is a second current reason to celebrate: the success of their last research publication "Border Experiences - Smuggling and Refugee Movements in the Fex Valley and Bergell 1930-1948". It therefore makes sense to dedicate the anniversary edition of the Art and Literary Tour Days to this complex of topics. In lectures and guided tours, performances and singing performances, by bus, horse-drawn carriage and on foot, on a cultural-historical, artistic and culinary level, the participants will get to know the border valleys of Bergell, Fex Valley and Puschlav better, which in the 1930s and 1940s not only became the scene of intensive smuggling of goods, but also decided the fate of numerous refugees who sought to escape fascist terror. The three-day event includes a concert by world-class pianist Sir Andràs Schiff.
