A show directed by a dog.
Pelote is a dog. But she's not the only one. She's also the new artistic director of Compagnie Alsand. A short-haired collaborator, with a belly that skims the ground, and a magnetic presence. In this show performed in the wild, she shares the stage with her two humans, Morgane and Damien.
What if the roles were reversed? What if it were no longer the humans who trained, but the dog who inspired? Au bout de la laisse explores this idea with humor, tenderness and a touch of joyful disobedience. What would happen if we really gave our four-legged companions their space? If they had something to say, a look to impose, an intuition to follow?
Somewhere between theater, clowning, music and real dog work, this show blurs the lines. It's not a dressage act. It's not an animal fable. It's an unexpected trio that questions notions of authority, freedom and cooperation. With gentleness. And with truffles.
It's an engaging, moving, funny - and slightly subversive - show. Because it asks a seemingly simple question: who really calls the shots?
