13.12.2025 18:00 - 19:00
Maison du diable espace culturel de la Fondation Fellini, Rue des Creusets 31, 1950 Sion
With a selection of iconic photographs and audio and video documents, the exhibition will highlight the films and characters that brought the Swedish master the highest recognition.
Featuring a selection of iconic photographs and audio and video documents, the exhibition will highlight the films and characters that have brought the Swedish master such international acclaim as the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival (The Square in 2017, Triangle of Sadness in 2022), and again in 2022, the European Film Prize for Triangle of Sadness, among many other awards conferred by the Seventh Art. On Ruben Östlund's initiative, and in cultural partnership with the Roy Andersson Archives, a space will be reserved for a tribute to this prince of black humor, who is also a major figure in Scandinavian cinema, and whom Ruben Östlund considers one of his most important living mentors. Federico Grandesso, a member of the Foundation Board, is an international journalist and the author of several interviews with Sina Östlund, Ruben Östlund and Roy Andersson, and in these capacities he is curating the exhibition. The photographs of Ruben Östlund's films were taken by Sina Östlund, Ruben's wife and the artist featured in the previous exhibition, also premiered at the Espace culturel de la Fondation Fellini in Sion on July 1: Sina Östlund - Obscura.

The opening will take place on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 6 p.m. at the Maison du diable - Espace culturel de la Fondation Fellini.

I'm a boy with a piece of wood in front of an anthill, digging. The anthill is society; my piece of wood is my camera. I'm no more moved than an entomologist watching a lion devour a buffalo. I'm content to watch.

Ruben Östlund. Interview by Cédric Enjalbert, Philosophie Magazine, October 27, 2022.

The Fellini Foundation expresses its gratitude to its institutional supporters, the City of Sion, the Bourgeoisie de Sion and the Lycée-Collège des Creusets. It would also like to express its gratitude to the exhibition's technical and cultural supporters and partners. The exhibition is part of the Fellini Foundation's 2025 Program in Support of the Celebrations of the Twentieth Anniversary of the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
