Mizu no Kokoro

Mercuri invites us to slow down and adapt like the element itself. It’s this calm she seeks when creating her cyanotypes at sunrise, in isolated places in direct contact with nature — a practice of connection and meditation through immersion. Works are a snapshot of the interaction between human and water.This series belongs to Waterscapes, a project in which Mercuri uses cyanotype to reveal how each water source — river, sea, wetland — reacts differently with the photosensitive paper depending on its composition, currents, temperature, and the light of the moment, creating a unique chemical image of the where and when.
