Swiss Koong Joong Hap-Ki-Do Interlaken

About us

The Royal Hap-Ki-Do club in Interlaken is a training center for the Korean martial art of Koong Joong Hap-Ki-Do. This martial art combines influences from various Asian styles and is characterized by a comprehensive curriculum. Numerous joint locks are typical, complemented by throws, kicks, and strikes. From the black belt level onward, students also learn the handling of various weapons. Hap-Ki-Do movements are primarily circular and fluid. The club understands Hap-Ki-Do not as a purely competitive combat sport, but as a martial art with a holistic approach and a philosophy of life. The training goal is the unity of body and mind through practice, which is intended to lead to sincerity, self-confidence, health, and inner peace. The training is based on three pillars: Ho Shin Sool, external self-defense with techniques such as joint locks and throws; Hual In Sool, internal self-defense or self-healing techniques; and Do Wan Sool, techniques for self-realization and enlightenment. The club offers free introductory training sessions. There are specific training sessions for adults and children of all ages. Adult training focuses on individual goals and prepares participants for colored belt examinations, emphasizing both physical and mental training. Children's training is playful and also prepares them for examinations, although the scope of the examinations may be reduced for children.
