About us
The Gruyère Free Flight Club is an association that brings together free flight enthusiasts, initially including hang gliders and later paragliders. The club has a rich history, having been founded in 1989 as the Gruyère Paragliding Club and evolving into the sole representative of free flight in the region, eventually incorporating hang gliders and pilots from Charmey and Jaun. The club organizes various activities for its members. It offers refresher days at different sites to help members get used to flying again. It also organizes group outings, such as week-long trips abroad to Slovenia or specific events like the Moléson Cup, a competition integrated into XContest for paragliders and hang gliders, requiring flights from slopes located in the Gruyère district. Furthermore, the club keeps its members informed about available flying sites in the region, such as Grandvillard, Le Moléson, Charmey, Jaun, and La Berra. It also communicates about important airspace restrictions such as the Epagny aerodrome zone and the LS-D7 Danger Area. The club is aimed at free flight pilots practicing paragliding and hang gliding.
