About us

The Thurgau Bat Conservation Association has been dedicated to researching bat populations in Thurgau and protecting their roosts and habitats since 1983. We are committed to preserving healthy habitats to ensure the bats' food supply. The association integrates bat sightings into the National Database and informs the public through various activities. We offer educational programs through press releases, excursions, lectures, courses, and collaborations with schools. We also provide expert guidance for construction projects to preserve or create new roosts and resolve conflicts. Our members receive training in the care of injured or exhausted bats. We offer training courses for local bat conservationists. We also provide advice on installing bat boxes and on bat-friendly building renovations. Members can receive plaques for roosting and protecting bats. We provide information about the bat species found in Thurgau. The association offers craft ideas for bat-themed festivals. We provide building plans for bat boxes. Members can purchase bat guano as plant fertilizer, as well as postcards and pictures. We operate care stations where volunteers care for injured or exhausted bats. Our target group is everyone in Thurgau who is interested in bats.
