Associazione Pro Mulino di Calonico

The Associazione Pro Mulino di Calonico (Association for the Calonico Mill) was founded in 1989 with the aim of preserving the historic Calonico grain mill, dating back to 1813, and ensuring its continued operation for future generations. The association strives to maintain and preserve the mill and its workings as an important cultural and technological testament to the Leventina region. The mill has been operational again since 1994. In addition to the mill, the association built a traditional wood-fired oven in the village in 2023 to foster community spirit and produce traditional baked goods. The association offers its more than eighty members social events such as annual mill festivals, baking days, and group excursions to similar establishments. The association's activities are a major draw for locals and Swiss-German tourists alike, enriching the cultural life of Calonico.
