Fischereiverein Oltigen-Niederried

About us

The Oltigen-Niederried Fishing Club was founded in 1966. The club manages a section of the Aare River between the Mühleberg and Niederried hydroelectric power plants. Its responsibilities include protecting nature, the landscape, and the waters within its leased area. The club monitors and enforces the legal regulations of the Canton of Bern through voluntary fishery supervision. The club promotes fish populations through regular stocking with trout and pike. Furthermore, the club maintains a stream for raising trout. The club also manages 87 boat slips along the Aare between Mühleberg and Niederried. Membership is generally open to all individuals, with young people aged 12 and older eligible for active membership. Active members are required to contribute to the maintenance of the waters and facilities. The club organizes various social events for its members.
