About us
The Murten Town Band is the official music corps of the municipality of Murten and was founded in 1879. It consists of approximately 50 active members and plays in the second division. The Murten Town Band's repertoire encompasses all styles of wind music, from traditional and jazz to pop pieces and concert band works. The musicians provide musical accompaniment for traditional events such as the Murten Historical Shooting Festival and the Swiss National Day celebrations. In addition, open-air concerts in Murten and the surrounding villages are among their activities, culminating in their annual concert. The Murten Town Band supports the conservatory studies of its members and welcomes new musicians of all ages.
