Feuerwehr Wittenbach-Häggenschwil

The Wittenbach-Häggenschwil Fire Department is an organization formed from the merger of the two local fire departments in 2006. It consists of approximately 70 firefighters and is on call 24/7, 365 days a year, serving the residents of Wittenbach and Häggenschwil. The organization offers its members a meaningful and engaging leisure activity as well as an extraordinary challenge. It also provides training and continuing education. Members benefit from modern equipment and excellent camaraderie. Furthermore, training and operational hours are paid, and members are exempt from the mandatory fire service contribution. The fire department also has a Junior Fire Team, a youth fire brigade. In addition, there is a fire department association that supports the maintenance of vintage vehicles and fosters camaraderie. The fire department also offers a First Responder Team for rapid assistance in acute medical emergencies. The target group for active fire service is motivated and team-oriented men and women between the ages of 18 and 35 who are willing to dedicate their free time to the community.
