Fischereiverein Wangen und Umgebung

The Wangen and Surrounding Area Fishing Club has been uniting people who enjoy fishing, nature, and a strong sense of community since 1924. With around 200 members, the club is committed to healthy waters and sustainable fishing practices. It advocates for the preservation of diverse fauna in and along the Aare River through careful management and renaturalization. The club manages the Aare as its home waters, as well as other fish hatchery and leased waters. The club offers its members a variety of activities and events, including conservation and maintenance days, organizing fish fry events, and selling fish nuggets at markets. The club also holds a Fish Day and is involved in flood protection measures for the Ösch River. Joint projects are undertaken with the hunting association and other fishing clubs. The club offers training for adults, including sanitation and sport fishing exams. The junior fishing group is particularly active, with regular events such as courses, competitions, and group fishing trips. The club welcomes anglers of all ages, from beginners to experienced members. New members are always welcome and will receive support when getting started.
