About us
The Narrhalla Lachen is a Carnival society founded in 1864 and is an established part of our village's cultural and social scene. Its main purpose is the preservation, promotion, and passing down of traditional customs to create a foundation for entertainment and joy during the Carnival season. The club organizes many traditional events throughout the Carnival period, such as the initial ringing, the children's Carnival, the witch's drive on Shrove Monday, and the sausage and bread distribution on the small Tuesday. The Narrhalla Lachen also supports general village decoration to enhance the festive atmosphere. Membership is automatically granted to all residents of Lachen who purchase a sausage voucher, making them eligible to vote at the General Assembly. The society offers opportunities to participate actively through sub-groups like the Jungnarren, for younger members, and the Lachner Narren, for those who wish to support the club without full commitment. Additionally, the club manages the Maskengarderobe, which rents and sells traditional Carnival figures, costumes, and masks. The target audience for the club's main activities is all residents and visitors to Lachen who want to experience and celebrate the local Carnival traditions.
