Société de Musique l'Echo du Gibloux

About us

The Echo du Gibloux Music Society of Châtelard is a second-category brass band founded in 1927. It currently has sixty-three members, including a twenty-one-piece English drum corps. The band regularly participates in the competitions of the Glâne Music Festival and the Fribourg Cantonal Music Festival. It traditionally gives its annual concerts on Easter weekend and also performs at the parish's religious festivals. To ensure its future, the association offers a music school for young people to learn wind instruments, drums, or percussion. Young people can begin their instrumental training around the age of eight. The music school offers the opportunity to learn an instrument, with the band covering a significant portion of the training costs. Students join the band around the age of fourteen, and the band provides music lessons until they turn eighteen. The doors of the brass band are open to everyone, young and old, whether they are already trained to play an instrument or eager to learn.
