Dorfläbe Ligerz-Schafis

The Ligerz-Schafis Village Life Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a sense of community in the villages of Ligerz and Schafis. The association organizes a variety of events for its members and the wider village community, including a bicycle drive for VelAfrica and flea markets in the village streets. Regular card tournaments (Jass) are held in the spring and autumn. The association also offers guided village tours. Cultural highlights include a whisky and cigar tasting event by the lake and open-air film screenings in the village center. In addition, the association organizes coffee gatherings on Ligerz's traditional "Läset Sunntigen" (Ligerz Harvest Sunday). At the end of the year, Advent gatherings take place in residents' homes, along with a Christmas celebration for senior citizens and a visit from St. Nicholas in the Schernelz forest. These activities are open to all residents of Ligerz and Schafis who wish to cultivate a vibrant community life.
