Association du gîte El Jire - sur les chemins des pèlerins

The El Jire Gîte Association has been operating since 2018. Its mission is to provide accommodation for pilgrims and hikers in Montpreveyres. This location lies on the Camino de Santiago, the Huguenot Trail, and the Jerusalem Way. The current gîte offers a four-bed room with a shower and toilet. Accommodation is offered on a donation basis, according to the hikers' means. The association also offers Christian-inspired spiritual guidance to those who wish it. It seeks to foster fellowship through exchanges between guests, Christian communities, and local residents. The association is currently developing a project to expand and improve the accommodation by building a new gîte. This new gîte will offer more beds, a kitchen, a dining hall, and a laundry room. The target audience consists of pilgrims and hikers using the various routes crossing the region. Members can participate in this endeavor by making a donation or by becoming volunteer hospitaleros.
