About us

The NVO Oberdorf was a nature and bird conservation association. In spring 2024, this association merged with the Waldenburg association to form the new regional association "Natur WB-Tal - Association for Biodiversity in the Waldenburg Valley." The former association offered its members participation in various activities. These included the maintenance and care of nesting boxes for various bird species such as songbirds, swallows, pygmy eagles, hoopoes, and owls. The association was involved in the maintenance of biotopes, especially the natural pond system in Rüttmatt. Another focus was supporting toads during their spawning migration across Bennwilerstrasse. Members could participate in excursions on various natural history topics. Efforts to combat invasive neophytes were organized. Members worked together on the annual Nature Conservation Day. The association also participated in political activities by expressing its views on nature and environmental issues. Additionally, feeding birds of prey was carried out during cold winters. The target group of the former association were people who were interested in nature and bird conservation in the Oberdorf region.
