Harmonie d'Oron

The Harmonie d'Oron is a music society with about forty active members. The club performs at village festivals, regional events, and various receptions. They also participate in cantonal and federal competitions. The society organizes its own annual concerts, a summer concert, and is actively involved in the traditional Oron Onion Fair. Furthermore, the Harmonie d'Oron hosts various other events like lotteries and village concerts. A significant part of the organization is the associated School of Music, the Ecole de Musique de l'Harmonie d'Oron, which caters to almost three hundred students. The music school offers instrumental and vocal teaching across many disciplines, including woodwinds, brass, percussion, accordion, singing, and strings. The school provides collective courses starting from early childhood, like parent-child initiation, and musical language classes. Students progress to join ensembles such as the COPS, which is a youth wind ensemble, and guitar ensembles. The target audience for the music school includes children and young people from Oron and the surrounding areas interested in learning an instrument or singing. The active musicians in the Harmonie d'Oron are a mix of young people and seasoned members, all united by a passion for music.
