Swiss Quarter Horse Association

About us

The Swiss Quarter Horse Association (SQHA) has been the association for the purebred breeding of American Quarter Horses in Switzerland since 1984. The association organizes shows with halter and performance classes to select horses suitable for breeding. The SQHA hosts an annual horsemanship camp for beginners and competitive riders with national and international trainers. Breeding support also includes the annual SQHA Futurity, where young horses can gently experience the atmosphere of a competition. Members benefit from a subscription to the WESTERNER magazine and discounts on annual subscriptions to other publications. The SQHA offers support in dealings with the American Quarter Horse Association. Members can participate in courses or receive discounts on courses. They have the opportunity to participate in the SQHA Futurity breeding program, as well as in European Championships and the European Cup. The association promotes youth development and facilitates the exchange of experiences among members, for example, at the annual Members' Day. The SQHA also collaborates with other Western riding associations to support the development of young talent in Western riding. The target audience includes everyone who shares a passion for the American Quarter Horse, whether as a breeder, competitive rider or leisure rider.
