About us
The See-Gaster Beekeepers' Association is dedicated to promoting beekeeping. It safeguards the material and non-material interests of beekeepers in the See and Gaster districts. The association offers its members basic and advanced training courses. It supports members through consultations via lectures, apiary visits, and individual discussions. An important area is breeding, which includes the work of a breeding group and the operation of a mating station. The association also conducts honey testing and promotes bee pastures. Furthermore, it is involved in public relations and the marketing of bee products. It undertakes specific tasks in the interest of beekeeping and is committed to combating bee diseases. Regular advisory evenings, known as "beekeepers' gatherings," serve as a forum for exchange and fostering camaraderie. A basic course in theory and practice is offered for newcomers. Members can also receive individual assistance with beekeeping problems. The association focuses specifically on breeding the dark bee, Apis mellifera mellifera.
