About us

The Ruedertal Weaving and Local History Museum is dedicated to the history of home weaving and local crafts. It showcases home weaving as it was practiced in the valley during the 19th and 20th centuries. The museum features a permanent exhibition where working ribbon looms demonstrate the production of ribbons. A shoemaker's workshop is also part of the exhibition. The attic displays artifacts from homes, farms, and various crafts. The museum offers regular opening days as well as customized guided tours for different groups. Visitors can also enjoy refreshments in the café and purchase souvenirs in the museum shop. The museum is run by an association dedicated to preserving this unique, still-active museum. It is open to anyone interested in history, school groups, and clubs interested in local craft history.
