Urchigs Terbil

About us

The Urchigs Terbil association runs an open-air museum in Törbel. This museum comprises eight historic buildings that reflect life in a Valais mountain village of yesteryear. These buildings include a wine press, the mule museum, the Polycarp House, the bakehouse, the Ignatius Chapel, a barn, the mill and fulling mill, as well as a frame saw. The mill and fulling mill are listed as cultural assets of national importance. The association offers expert-led tours of the museum, during which the operation of the facilities using water power is demonstrated. In addition, the association regularly organizes cultural events to preserve the memories of village life in the past. The target audience includes locals and visitors interested in the history and traditional life of Törbel.
