Jugendmusik JUMU Meilen/Uetikon/Egg

The Pfannenstiel Youth Band (JUMU) is an independent association, founded in 1990 as the Meilen-Uetikon-Egg Youth Band and renamed in 2009. The association's mission is to foster musical development in young people while also providing a space for forging lasting friendships. Members are on average around 14 years old, with the youngest member being 13 and the oldest 19. Members typically receive their basic musical training through the Pfannenstiel Music School. The JUMU works closely with the Pfannenstiel Music School and its sponsoring associations, the Meilen and Uetikon Music Societies. The association offers its members regular rehearsals every Friday evening in Meilen. They participate in various events, including joint concerts with the sponsoring associations, a summer concert, an autumn concert, and an Advent concert. Approximately every two years, the youth band undertakes a multi-day concert tour to Switzerland or neighboring countries. The JUMU is always looking for new members for all instruments.
