Musikgesellschaft Walchwil

About us

The Walchwil Music Society is a long-established music association from the municipality of Walchwil in the canton of Zug, Switzerland. Founded in 1895, the society currently has fifty active members. The music society enriches the cultural life of the community with its broad musical repertoire and its dedication to wind band music. Under the direction of conductor Roland Hürlimann, the musical spectrum encompasses traditional wind band music, modern arrangements, and challenging concert pieces. The society places great importance on cultivating both traditional and contemporary repertoire. Members of all ages play together, with an average age of 33. A key focus is the promotion of young musicians in cooperation with the local music school. Highlights of the annual calendar include the spring concert and Advent or church concerts in the autumn. In addition, the society regularly participates in cantonal music competitions and organizes its own events. New musicians with wind or percussion instruments are always welcome, whether for a project-based or long-term commitment.
