About us

The Bernina section of the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) is a club dedicated to the mountains and boasts a 125-year tradition of mountain hut management. The club offers its members a diverse program of tours for summer and winter, including ski tours, snowshoe hikes, and alpine mountaineering. The section also operates five staffed mountain huts, serving as starting points for tours or as places to stop for refreshments. Furthermore, the section is heavily involved in alpine rescue and offers training in various specialized areas such as helicopter rescue, search and rescue dogs (including avalanche dogs), and first aid. These programs are designed for anyone who enjoys activities in the alpine environment and values camaraderie and training.
