Mountain spring in Fondei

A spring hike to the Grünsee in FondeiIn the valley, it already feels almost like summer. Whether this is also the case in the high valley Fondei, we will see. Together we set out in search of the first spring flowers and keep an eye out for the frogs that may just be on their way to their breeding grounds.What we encounter along the way, we will let come to us - we will be surprised. In lower elevations, it is already almost summer. On the mountain, the last patches of snow are melting. It is still quiet up here. The cattle have not yet moved into their summer quarters. We enjoy this tranquility and observe nature waking up. In the high valley Fondei, we encounter a wonderful flora, the history of the Walser people, and learn about the women of Langwies who have tirelessly worked for the valley. We start in Strassberg and hike towards Grünsee and Casannapass and back again to Strassberg.
