Galerie du Château, Rue du Château, 1580 Avenches
Located on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Château in the former district prisons, disused since 1964, the Galerie du Château has been exhibiting artists from all horizons since 1977.
Bernard Zürcher has lived and worked in Montet-Cudrefin since 1977. He studied Fine Art at the Lycée Artistique de Neuchâtel, graduating in 1980. He taught visual arts, manual creative activities, technical drawing and home economics for 41 years at the Co in Domdidier.
He has an extensive artistic career, with numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout French-speaking Switzerland. Many of her works are displayed in public spaces: La dame" at the Place de la Tour in Cudrefin, "Le Disque Step" + "Arches" at the Co in Domdidier, "La Balle qui roule", a fresco created with the young people of Anzère, "Option 2000", 13 frescoes created with 2 classes from Avenches in every commune in the district, "Les sirènes", 80 figurines on the landing stage at Portalban, sculptures in oxidisable steel at the Domdidier roundabout, and in 2019-2021, "Jardin des Lumières" in Murten; These are just a few examples of the work of this tireless artist.
