PANORAMI CINEMATOGRAFICI

CONSARC/GALLERIA snc, Via F.Borromini 2, 6830 Chiasso
This exhibition was born from a perhaps risky undertaking: inviting three artists with different expressive languages—a performer, a filmmaker, and a photographer—to conceive a display in which
Silvano Repetto, a performer, acts as a link between his colleagues in the exhibition. He presents his latest "useless performance," staged on a deserted beach at the end of the season, where he offers drinks to an absent audience. A well-known artist, Repetto also brought his action art to the MASI (February 2021) at a time when exhibitions themselves seemed "useless," closed to the public during the lockdown.

Mirko Aretini, a filmmaker with a solid career spanning documentaries, films, and video art, is a narrator attentive to personal introspection and the lives of others. For this occasion, he inverts the traditional role of the artist: he doesn't narrate, but invites the audience to share their emotions in front of photographs that become a metaphorical projection of the image, conceived as a filmic frame of everyday life. Everything can be a film, it's a matter of perspective.

Gian Paolo Minelli, a photographer with decades of experience in the visual arts, presents a series of shots taken during his repeated trips to Argentina, often alone. His desert landscapes, where life struggles to thrive and only a few cacti or traces of past civilizations break the solitude, portray hills and mountains that bear witness to millennia of planetary history. These photographs evoke visions of an abandoned world or of solidified magma flows. In his geometric and shapeless compositions, seemingly insignificant rocks and minerals become reminders of a possible future for a planet overtaken by humankind.

Photography, film, and performance thus intertwine without the pretense of a definitive artistic statement, but with the aim of inviting the public to reflect. The connection between the works is not declared, but rather sought, offering visitors different languages to discuss images.
