An outdoor exhibition featuring works by sculptor Michel Bassompierre, displayed throughout the streets and hotels of Crans-Montana.
For the first time in his career, Michel Bassompierre is presenting one of his sculptures at over 2000 metres above sea level. A personal altitude record, and a striking setting for the latest exhibition by the grand master of animal sculpture. In total, seven monumental works can be discovered across the resort until the end of March, in partnership with the Biennale Crans Montana.
Following exhibitions at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, on Boulevard Haussmann in Paris, and alongside the ongoing show on Park Avenue in New York, his «Fragile Colossi» settle in for the winter in what can only be described as a true snow paradise.
Surrounded by snow, brown bears, polar bears and the emperor penguin reconnect with an essential element of their natural habitat. At several iconic locations around the resort, visitors are invited to discover works such as «L'Effluve», «Le Jeu», «Les Abeilles» and «Le Campagnol». Evocatively titled sculptures that reveal the intimate lives of these animals, whom the artist considers his brothers.
