In the opening concert of its six-part concert series in the Musikdorf Ernen, the Trio Gaspard takes you to Vienna. Beethoven, with his cheerful Trio in E flat major, marks the beginning, followed by four beautifully Viennese mood pieces by Fritz Kreisler, one of the greatest violinists of the century.

Given the compositional mastery and maturity, there is no indication that Erich Wolfgang Korngold composed his piano trio at the age of 12. The work captivates with its harmonic opulence and the passionate spirit of fin-de-siècle Vienna.
