Follow the path of the rye and experience it with all your senses; taste rye bread products; take-away snacks for everyone | suitable for young and old

In the Valais mountain village of Erschmatt, we can immerse ourselves in the living Valais tradition of rye. Visitors will learn about the rye plant in detail and experience the journey from grain to bread: threshing and winnowing grain, grinding seeds, watching a film about bread baking, splitting bread, and tasting rye products. They will return home with many experiences and a “give-away”. Suitable for young and old.

Programme

The rye workshop programme in brief:

- Welcome and introduction

- Examine the rye plant up close

- Threshing and tubs by the barn-granary

- Grinding in the high granary

- Get to know bread baking in a movie

- Conclude with a tasting of rye products
