Following the success of the first edition, the second volume of the Swiss Architecture Yearbook, SAY 2025/2026, was presented last September in Basel.
The publication provides a broad and diverse overview of Swiss architectural production, also highlighting the variety of regions in Switzerland, from urban to suburban areas, and emphasizing key themes in the culture of the built environment.
The volume brings together 30 selected projects, including 2 from Ticino, as well as 4 special mentions chosen from 158 submissions by a committee of experts. While the first volume initiated a national and international dialogue on Swiss Baukultur, this second edition represents an important first step towards the creation of a national archive of Swiss architecture. Together, the selected projects offer a significant overview of central themes in the field and ensure balanced representation of all regions of the country.
As with the previous edition, a traveling exhibition will accompany the yearbook. After its presentation at the S AM Schweizerisches Architekturmuseum in Basel (27.09–09.11.2025), the exhibition will take place on Saturday, 29 November, at the International Institute of Architecture in Lugano, in the Limonaia and the Park of Villa Saroli.
