The medium of the panorama as seen through the lenses of young HSLU students—fresh, curious, and beyond familiar perspectives. This cabinet exhibition inspires you to take a closer look!
Camera Arts Meets Bourbaki: The Panorama from New Perspectives
Fourteen students in the Camera Arts bachelor’s program at HSLU have rediscovered the Bourbaki Panorama—using various cameras, colored light, and plenty of curiosity. They explored the Panorama from unusual perspectives, worked both in front of and behind the scenes, experimented with projections, and even involved passersby in their work. The images captured with a large-format analog camera offer a unique visual experience, in which the painting seamlessly transitions into three-dimensional space. These works evoke early photographs from the period of internment and bridge the gap between historical photographic practice and the contemporary present.
These artistic-documentary works invite you to sharpen your own perspective and rediscover this European cultural monument.
