Mazot - Musée Plan-Cerisier : Expo#02 Jean-Paul Faisant [EN]

Mazot-musée de Plan-Cerisier, Plan-Cerisier 32, 1921 Martigny-Croix
Le Mazot-Musée: An intimate setting dedicated to vines and art at Plan-Cerisier
Considered Switzerland's smallest wine museum, the Mazot-Musée showcases the winegrowing heritage of Martigny and Martigny-Croix. Housed in a typical old mazot, once used as temporary accommodation by families working in the vineyards of the Trient Valley, this unique venue retains its traditional layout, with a soapstone stove on the first floor and a timber floor. Old viticulture and vinification tools are on display, testifying to the know-how of yesteryear.

The Mazot-Musée also hosts two art exhibitions a year, featuring regional and international artists. Currently, the retrospective "Hommage au peintre des étoiles" showcases the works of local artist Jean-Paul Faisant. Visitors can discover a variety of themes, such as unspoilt nature, jewels of the past and a vision of a hypothetical vanished future, through charcoals, red chalks, watercolors and frescoes.

The Mazot-Musée is open Wednesday to Friday, 2pm to 6pm, and Saturday, 5pm to 7pm, with free admission.
