Exposition en plein air, Place du Manoir, 1920 Martigny
Dog pictures by Renée Chappaz-Peiry
The Médiathèque Valais - Martigny is delighted to present "Quels chiens! Photographies canines de Renée Chappaz-Peiry", an original exhibition revealing the sensitive and passionate eye of this Valais photographer.
Born in Pringy in 1932, Renée Chappaz Peiry has devoted much of her work to the animal kingdom, capturing with tenderness and precision her favorite subjects, mainly dogs. Trained by renowned photographers, she combined technical rigor with poetry, producing images imbued with emotion.
The exhibition, conceived by Sylvie Fournier, scientific collaborator at the Médiathèque Valais - Martigny, highlights photographs taken in Paris and the Valais, revealing an artist long in the shadows whose sensitivity finally deserves recognition. The exhibition will be inaugurated during the Nuit valaisanne des images on November 8 at 11am at the Place du Manoir in Martigny.
A unique opportunity to rediscover wildlife art through the lens of a pioneering photographer, whose holdings have recently joined our collection.
