Aline and Chris Kaltenrieder will be presenting their texts and pictures at the Pellegrini Gallery from 10 April to 3 May.
The exhibition is entitled: Colourful Past – Between Care and Independence.A colourful life with a disability.It provides insight into a mother-daughter relationship, expressed in colourful pictures by Aline and accompanying texts by Chris.
It is a retrospective look at everyday family life with three small children and the simultaneous establishment of their own business; a life that sometimes resembled running on a hamster wheel and in which worries and fears took over unnoticed.The exhibition invites us to explore life with a disability – from the perspective of a mother and her child.Aline Kaltenrieder was unable to speak during the first years of her life, but she has always painted – colourfully and generously. Over the last 27 years, she has accumulated many colourful pictures – an expression of happiness and joy. Only now does Chris Kaltenrieder realise how happy her child has always been. Her worries and fears were too great at the time to see it. But they were not greater than Aline's colourful zest for life. Fortunately!This exhibition is a showcase of paintings and drawings by Aline, accompanied by texts and thoughts from a caring mother.
