Angles of Repose. Exposition de Anouk Wolse

Anouk Wolse (born 1986) is a Canadian artist who lives and works in Switzerland. She began her fine arts studies on Vancouver Island, then studied at Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia, and at Santa Reparata in Florence, Italy, before obtaining her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada. She has exhibited her work in Canada, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Switzerland. Her work focuses on landscapes often populated by mysterious figures that emerge from or blend into their surroundings. These imaginary landscapes are characterised by zones of soft colour transitions and fluid forms that create a dreamlike atmosphere. Like a memory or a peripheral perception, the compositions are based on a state of equilibrium on the verge of dissolution.
