About the sanctuary
Nestled amongst the rolling hills near Bellinzona, in the heart of Ticino, lies a place of hope: the Casa Orizzonti animal sanctuary in Prosito. What was once an agritourism site has been transformed by Tanya Tralamazza, with great passion and tireless dedication, into a loving refuge for animals rescued from poor conditions. Here, animals that have suffered neglect or abuse find a second chance at a peaceful life. Every resident – be it a horse, a goat or a dog – has their own story, yet they are all united by the joy of having found a loving home at Casa Orizzonti.
However, it is the volunteers who make this special place possible. Working without pay but with tireless dedication, they ensure that the animals receive the care and attention they deserve, day in, day out. Their devotion shows that true humanity knows no bounds.
This animal sanctuary is more than just a home for animals in need – it is a symbol of compassion, of a second chance and of the power of community.
