In Feydeau, the characters find themselves trapped in an avalanche of unexpected encounters, lies and secrets. The author meticulously orchestrates a vast mess. In "La mécanique du pétrin", five ace improvisers take their inspiration from these vaudevilles and throw themselves wholeheartedly into the art of misunderstanding. Somewhere between farce and comedy, realism and caricature, the performers whirl around in a frenzy of organised chaos, slaloming brilliantly through tangles and slamming doors.
