THE LAST GREAT MASTER OF UKIYO-E
Tsukioka Yoshitoshi (1839-1892) is considered to be one of the last great masters of Japanese ukiyo-e prints, along with Hiroshige, Hokusai, Utamaro and his master Kuniyoshi. His work was to have a lasting influence on modern Japanese graphic arts, particularly the world of manga. The exhibition features around forty of his works, most of them from the famous ‘Hundred Aspects of the Moon’ series.
