Coexistence: Un autre regard

Café de la Place, Place du Village 3, 1907 Saxon
An exhibition by Soraya Poulin | Visual arts & environmental communication
During her artistic residency in Prague in the summer of 2022, Soraya Poulin had the privilege of creating works related to the environment and sustainability, thanks to an immersion in Mistra Environmental Communication research at the ICSJ.

The objective of this exhibition is to provoke deep reflection on the place of man within urban ecosystems. Adopting a non-human-centered approach, the works aim to visualize and express different points of view on the relationship between man and nature.

The central question of this exhibition is the following: "Where is the border between us? What if this separation, these barriers created between "human" and "nature" began to organically intertwine, to merge until they are no longer distinguishable from each other? Through a variety of mediums such as painting, photography and drawing, the works invite the public to rethink their perception of coexistence.

The "Urban Bird" project was developed by Soraya Poulin during her collaboration with the Mistra Environmental Communication (MISTRA-EC) program and researchers from the Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism at Charles University, during her artistic residency at Prague from September to October 2022. By exploring the relationship between humans and nature, with a particular focus on birds in an urban context, the project highlights the multiple power dynamics surrounding them.

The public is invited to discover the "Urban Bird" project during the exhibition "Coexistence: Un autre regard", which will be held at the Café de la Place chez Coco in Saxon from February 2nd until April 30th. This unique artistic experience offers an immersion in a harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.

For more information on the exhibition and schedules, we invite you to consult the artist's page or to contact the Café de la Place chez Coco directly in Saxon.
