One morning everything is different.
Gregor doesn't come out of his room. His mother, father and sister are listening at the door. Strange noises... What has happened?
Based on Kafka's story The Metamorphosis, we imagine what happens to a family when order falls apart, when a major change occurs. Gregor turns into a beetle and his family is completely overwhelmed. In Kafka's story, it ends in disaster. And for us? Our goal is not sadness, but empathy. Not despair, but sparks of possibility.
Kafka for five-year-olds? Yes! The questions that arise from Kafka's story come up at any time, in any place in our lives and arise in every family, every society: how do we deal with the incomprehensible, with disruption, with the strange?
The audience sits in the middle of the action and experiences the story at first hand. With our beetle, we want to show that change is not a threat, but an enrichment.
