On 1st March, winter is ceremoniously driven away with singing and the ringing of bells and spring is officially ushered in.
On February 28th, the students bring the Chalandamarz tradition to the hotels of St. Moritz. Starting at 6:30 pm, they sing their way from hotel to hotel, sharing this vibrant Engadine custom with guests from all over the world.

On Sunday, March 1st, the Chalandamarz fills St. Moritz with sound and tradition. Children in shepherds' shirts and traditional costumes parade through the streets with large bells and traditional songs, driving away winter and welcoming spring.

The traditional Chalandamarz processions wind their way through the village center and St. Moritz Bad. Immediately afterward, all the students of the St. Moritz municipal school join in a communal sing-along.
