*Die Spätzünder* is an Austrian-German tragicomedy from 2009 starring Jan Josef Liefers and Ursula Strauss. The film was released in Austria under the title “Live is Life – Die Spätzünder.” Rock musician Rochus Siwak, known as Rocco, isn’t very successful. He’s been sentenced to community service at a nursing home. It doesn’t take long before he clashes with both the home’s management and the nursing staff. Over time, Rocco learns that it’s worth taking the elderly seriously. He comes up with the idea of forming a rock band with them, which he calls “Die Spätzünder.” He wants to enter them in a competition. He’s supported in this by Sister Marina, who has fallen in love with him.
