ETH Nanoparticles Conference (NPC)

ETH Hauptgebäude, Rämistrasse 101, 8006 Zürich
CHF 100.00 - 400.00
The Nanoparticles Conference functions as an interdisciplinary forum focusing on all aspects of nanoparticles — from different types of sources to transformative changes in ambient air, followed by their global distribution. The event will explore technical mitigation, regulatory standards, and the effects of nanoparticles on health, the environment, and climate. The NPC starts with a welcome reception in the evening of day 1, followed by three days of high-quality and cutting-edge presentation (oral and poster) with intensive discussions among the participants. Day 1 of the scientific program is closed by a exhibitor apéro, while day 2 find its highlight in the evening at the conference dinner. On day 3 the scientific program find its continuation in the morning, while the focus event in the afternoon will close the conference.

Topics:
- Aircraft, marine and other non-road sources
- Alternative fuels Ambient air particles, secondary pollutants
- Biomass burning, incl. wildfires
- Brake wear and tyre wear particles
- Emission control of combustion engines
- Environmental and climate effects
- Filtration of nanoparticles (also biogenic)
- Indoor particles and occupational exposure
- Legislation, monitoring and enforcement
- Nanoparticle physics and chemistry
- Nanoparticle formation and transformation
- Nanoparticle metrology
- Nanoparticle toxicity and health effects

Focus Event: «Exposure in Indoor Environments»

Particles indoors originate from both outdoor air that migrates indoors and from indoor sources. As people spend most of their time indoors, it is crucial to know how particle concentrations are influenced by indoor activities and sources, outdoor levels, ventilation, and building characteristics. Protecting people in everyday indoor spaces, such as homes, vehicle cabins, classrooms, public buildings, and workplaces, requires targeted strategies to limit exposure.

The Focus Event will bring together experts to discuss the full spectrum of indoor particle challenges, including ventilation and airflow management, filtration technologies, health implications, and the regulatory landscape.
